The UOB PRVI Miles Credit Card gives 8.4% effective rewards on bookings with Expedia, Agoda & UOB Travel, 3.4% rewards on all overseas spending and 1.96% rewards on all other spending.
The base reward rate of 3.5 UNI$ / S$5 spending translates to a 1.4 miles per dollar (mpd) or about a 1.96% reward rate which is one of the best base rewards rates of any credit card in Singapore.
Only credit cards with much higher annual fees, like the DBS Vantage, or ultra high-end cards like the UOB Reserve have a higher base reward rate (1.5 – 1.6mpd).
Combined with high reward rates for travel bookings and overseas transactions, we estimate you can earn a reward yield of 2.0-2.7% on all your spending with this card in a month.
However there are a couple of restriction to keep in mind before signing up for the UOB PRVI.
First, the bonus reward rate for travel (8.4%) is not available category-wide for travel but is restricted to only certain websites and only certain airlines on those websites.
The notable exclusion here is Singapore Airlines, which can be a deal breaker for many Singapore residents. Also notable is the lack of any vacation rental platforms like AirBnB etc.
As long as you are comfortable making all your travel bookings via the 3 included sites / travel agents, the PRVI can be one of the best credit cards in Singapore, especially for high spenders who may travel a lot.
If you are not comfortable with the restriction on this card, scroll down for our recommendations on the best credit cards in Singapore.
