Update (02 May 2023): RBL Bank has discontinued the Edition Program. W.e.f 15 May 2023, the Edition and Edition Black cards will become inactive and the Bank will replace them with RBL Bank Shoprite Credit Cards. The RBL Bank Edition Black was our recommended credit card for monthly spending above ₹20,000. With this change we no longer recommend a credit card from RBL Bank in this category.
The Bottom Line
RBL Edition Black Credit Card
Discontinued w.e.f. 15 May 2023
10% Edition Cashback on Zomato and Blinkit, 1% Edition Cashback on all other spends. Best card in India for Online Food Delivery.
* Based on est. net reward yield for nearly 400 credit cards in India, for each monthly spending level. Read about how we calculate the net reward yield here.
^The negative figure means at this level of monthly spends, the rewards earned in a year will be worth less than the annual fee.
We think the RBL Bank Edition Black Credit Card is the best credit cards in India for food delivery. It offers unlimited 10% rewards on all your Zomato & Blinkit orders.
It has an annual fee of ₹1,499 which can be waived on reaching annual spending of ₹4 lacs.
All RBL Bank customers with the Edition and Edition Black cards will be getting the ShopRite Credit Card as a replacement.
We estimate the ShopRite Card has a net reward yield of only 0.6 – 1.4% and is not a good replacement for the Edition Black.
The RBL Bank Monthly Treats Credit Card is the best entry level credit card from RBL Bank. This card can earn you a net reward yield of 1.3-2.7%, if you spend less than ₹20,000 on your card each month.
That also makes it one of the best entry level credit cards in India.
With the discontinuation of the Edition program, we no longer recommend any RBL Bank credit card for people charging more than ₹20,000 a month to their credit cards.
The Insignia Preferred Banking Card is the highest yielding credit card from RBL Bank for those charging more than ₹20,000 a month on their cards.
However, the Insignia Preferred offers a meagre net reward yield of 1.3 – 1.4% at that level of spending. You also need a total relationship value with RBL Bank of more than ₹30 lacs to qualify for this card.
We think if you can qualify for the Insignia Preferred, you can get a much better credit card from many other banks and you should not settle for the Insignia.
Our list of the best credit cards in India, at every spending level and from every bank, is here. You can find a detailed discussion of our methodology here.
