Privy League Signature Credit Card

The Bottom Line

Privy League Signature Credit Card
2-in-1 Card, Low Rewards Overall

5 reward points /₹100 like apparels, grocery, consumer durable, multi-brand online & departmental stores or airlines, hotels, duty free, international spends & travel agencies and 2 points on all other spends.

Monthly Spend ₹5K ₹10K ₹20K ₹50K ₹100K
Net Reward Yield -3.5%^ -1.3%^ -0.4%^ 0.2% 0.4%
Est. Monthly Reward (₹) (175) (135) (75) 115 440
All-India Rewards Rank* 312 317 328 308 225
Within Bank Rank* 16 16 16 13 8
* Based on est. net reward yield for nearly 400 credit cards in India, for each monthly spending level. Read about how we calculate the net reward yield here.

^The negative figure means at this level of monthly spends, the rewards earned in a year will be worth less than the annual fee.

The Privy League Signature Credit Card comes in a free version with zero annual fee and a paid version with a ₹2,500 annual fee.

You can also choose to take both of those version with either a Shopper’s Plan (1.25% effective rewards on shopping, grocery & departmental stores, 0.50% on the rest) or a Traveller’s Plan (1.25% effective rewards on travel and transport, 0.50% on the rest).

We estimate the free version of this card has a net reward yield of 0.6 – 0.7% with both plans.

The paid version had a net reward yield of 0.2 – 0.4% on monthly spending above ₹50,000. However, temporarily the Bank has started giving 6,400 reward points every quarter if you hit a spend of ₹1,000 each month.

Earlier the milestone reward was 4 PVR tickets, which we did not value in our net reward yield calculation.

While the new reward system remains, the Privy (paid version) has a net reward yield of 1.0 – 1.3% on monthly spends above ₹50,000.

The net reward yield is even higher at lower levels of spends (3-7% between ₹5 – 20K monthly spend). However this card is only available to Privy League tier customers of Kotak.

This means it is not really an entry level card, even though the rewards are actually quite high if you spend just over ₹1,000 each month on this card.

This is why we do not recommend this card despite its temporarily high yield at the entry levels.

The 811 #DreamDifferent Credit Card is the best entry level credit card from Kotak Mahindra Bank, with a net rewards yield of 0.4 – 1.0%.

If you are spending between ₹10,000 – 20,000 a month on your card, consider the Kotak Indigo Ka-ching 6E Rewards Credit Card with a net rewards yield of 0.7 – 1.1%

The Kotak IndiGo Ka-ching 6E Rewards XL Credit Card is the best choice for Kotak Mahindra Bank customers who charge ₹20,000+ a month on their card. You can earn a net rewards yield of up to 2.3% with this card.
